Welcome to your Dakota county regional chamber!
Why Do Members Join the DCR Chamber?
One primary motivation is our commitment to our mission, vision, and platforms. The DCR Chamber offers members opportunities to expand their network, heighten visibility, promote their business, develop leadership and professional skills, and help influence local and regional initiatives.
Membership will open the door to new business opportunities, essential business advice, valuable information, and expertise. The Chamber provides extensive networking opportunities through more than 100 events annually and facilitates connections with key decision-makers for assistance in resolving business challenges. The DCR Chamber is dedicated to supporting the local and regional economy, cultivating an effective workforce that can meet the needs of businesses both now and in the future, and promoting a business-friendly environment at all levels of government.
What is a Chamber of Commerce?
A chamber of commerce is a local organization made up of businesses and professionals that work together to promote and protect the interests of the business community within a specific geographical area.
It operates as a nonprofit mutual benefit corporation consisting of voluntary members who dedicate their time and resources to advance initiatives and programs tailored to the members’ requirements, contributing to the organized progress and prosperity of the region.
DCR Chamber’s Service Footprint
The DCR Chamber regionally represents approximately 500 members from all categories of business, non-profit and community partners throughout Dakota County. The DCR Chamber also locally serves the cities of Farmington, Rosemount, Eagan, Empire, Mendota, Mendota Heights, Lilydale, Sunfish Lake, and West St. Paul, along with the Townships of Castle Rock, Eureka, and Hampton. While the DCR Chamber does not recruit within Dakota County outside of its footprint, approximately 40% of our Membership choses to join us from outside of our footprint for the benefits our Regional Chamber provides. Many of our Members see the value of chamber membership and join other chambers as well.
Is the Chamber Part of City/County Government?
No. This is a common misconception. While the DCR Chamber collaborates with the city and county as partners, it is important to note that the DCR Chamber is an entity representing businesses and is not part of the city or county government. The city and county government serve as the corporate body for the community, while a chamber functions as a distinct independent, nonprofit business organization.
