Government

The Chamber promotes pro-business initiatives and legislation, relative to your business at the municipal and regional levels, as well as at the State Capitol. Transportation, health care costs and economic development are three policy areas where DCR will be influential on behalf of its members.

Chamber members are encouraged to get involved with local politics and community organizations to represent business on these bodies. There are many opportunities to make a difference in your community by being active on the EDA, City Council, Task Forces, County Boards and focus groups. Contact your community City Hall to find out about these opportunities as most have a rolling application process.

The DCR Government Affairs Committee serves the interests of the regional business community by facilitating member communication with state and local officials through regular conference calls and breakfast programs. The Committee is actively involved in addressing local business issues at a policy level and works to establish position statements on key local, regional and state issues. The Committee meets on the 3rd Friday of every month, 7:30 am at the Chamber office. Contact Ruthe Batulis if you are interested in participating on this committee.
